Summer is over. We survived the Nor'easter with only a couple days on house and studio generator power as we waited for Eversource to come clear the fallen tree that was blocking our driveway. Clean up in aisle 926 😉
We have 2 songs ready for Volume 2! And we are working on the other 9 tunes. Freddie has been trying to keep the vibes humming over at TLS, working on the rough tracks for originals and tech stuff. There has been a bit of a slow down due to his 9-to-5 taking up almost all of his time and energy... big projects for big corporations need experts like Freddie to put out fires and keep the gears moving along! I will get back to booking sessions for the original tunes with various players once the dust settles. When we have all 11 songs completed we will once again use DistroKids as our distributor to the 22+ music streaming platforms that Volume 1 is already being played on.
Volume 2 will have more than 1 genre style. Our intention for our volume releases is to include original songs from different artists and with a variety of players, all on our Tane Tunes label and created using the TLS 'machine'. Licensing can be done by each individual artist with their own licensing organization or thru Tane Tunes BMI registration. We are tossing around the idea of having an "Open Studio" night. Similar to an open house where people that are seriously interested in recording at TLS have the opportunity to visit, ask questions, and see what it's all about. We realize it's unusual for a recording studio to offer the opportunity for musicians to record at next to nothing costs. The Open Studio night will give us the chance to explain our philosophy to those that are sincerely interested in recording at TLS.
And I am warming up to the idea of spending money on promoting one of Freddie's originals from Volume 1 with a bonified curator to get on some playlists. I will be putting together a survey that will be sent out to all on our mailing list to see which song people think should be that candidate.
